got abit of a querie here ... i'm a total noob at fish keeping but i couldn't help seeing these guppies in my local pets at home store .... but there were so many different coloured ones! most of them had pretty bright colours too .... so i was wondering if these are likely to have been coloured or not??

I doubt it. I've never heard of a painte guppy, but there could still be some. The ones in my lfs aren't painted, and they are very colorful. So most likely they are natural.

Oh they would survive painting, However its easier to get a colorful guppt in any given color than it is to get an albino guppy because the gene for albinism in guppies is also responsible for sterility in males. also, its difficult to dye in a patern but you can grow snakeskin gupps and striped gups and gups of every sort.

Hope this helps
