Hi all,

I'm normally just a browser of this forum (very informative and interesting :good: ) but felt I had to share this news....

P@H have started selling marines!

I normally never rate their fish and knowledge at all, as i've not had particularly great experiences with them as a company...

However, I was in the Crayford branch and noticed that they had changed their store layout so the fish were upstairs? Of course, I had to go have a nosey....

Imagine my shock and surprise to find they had marine fish!!!!

I've never heard of them doing marines before! Is this new? Or do they sell them in other stores, just none that i've been in? I only ask because they are frequently mentioned on the tropical freshwater section (not usually in a good way  ), and never on the marine....

They didn't have a massive selection, just seemed to be the basics like clownfish, various shrimp, chromis, etc. and a couple of lionfish. But I have to say I was fairly impressed with it all! The staff seemed very knowledgeable - I didn't have time for a chat as it was Saturday and they were very busy!

Has anybody else seen marine fish being sold at their local stores? Or is this just a one off?

If they are anything like my local store than they are **** at they only do Freshies.

Let us know how you think they are doing please :good:

Hi,

I took another visit there and picked up a leaflet about the place - from the sounds of it, it seems they're the only one doing marines at the moment? So i'm assuming it's some sort of trial store?

Anyway, the leaflet says that the manager used to be in charge of the aquarium at London zoo? And another guy has an MSc in fisheries something or other? Gahh, I threw away the leaflet, can't remember exactly what it said...

But yeh, it all seemed pretty good to me! My knowledge isn't amazing (which is why I spend my days reading sites like this ;) ) but the advice they were giving out seemed pretty sound.

Time will tell I suppose, but if somebody goes over there with some *proper* marine knowledge i'm sure they'd be able to give a better review!

So, at the moment, thumbs up! :good:
