hello
I have my ozelot sword in my fish tank and the leaves are getting yellow and rotten. should I put it in my pond better or wait for it to recuperate in the tank
I have been having the light on for 8 hours a day for 3 days allready and no change

what do you recomend??

thanks for the help

Probably low nutrients. I guess you're not dosing any plant food in the tank? This would be why the sword is dieing, it's starving!

no I'm not.
I din't think it needed some because its basically the only plant in the tank
will it do better in the pond ??
I dont know if I can get some plant food here in mexico
I have it in the gravel. I read thats ok. is it true??

thanks

Looks like an algae problem.

Have you tried Flourish excel? It adds carbon to the tank and kills many types of algae.

algae ??
but the tank is crytal clear !!
if I move the plant to the pond will it get better ??

If a plant is dieing then it uncontrollably leaches ammonia. Algae spores feed on the ammonia and light to multiply and form more algae. Hence why algae is growing on and around the sword.
Give plants what they want and need and you shouldn't have a dieing plant, therefore, no ammonia = no algae. Different algae derives from different deficiencies.

It's impossible for us to predict whether it would do better in the pond because we have no idea what the conditions are like in the pond and whether they are favourable to the sword or not.

Hi
This plant needs fertizilers, root tablets. Plus water column fertilizer's at least twice a week to help it thrive.
This is a hungry eater regarding fertilization.
