I am currently doing a fishless cycle. And unless I fill my tank so the water exit on my filter is submerged, the flowing of the water into the tank is very noisy. But if I do submerge it I don't get any surface movement which I understand is bad as it dosen't oxygenate the water for the fish. I know that I dont need to worry about it at the moment but i'd like to purchase one for when I do get the fish.

I was looking at the tetratec aps100 as it is really quiet. Also how large are the bubbles produced as they pop really quickly on the surface and keep waking me up :D Thanks in advanced.

buy some ear plugs lol. I'm a light sleeper and I've learnt to block out the noise of 6 tanks going throughout the night (3 of which are run with air driven filters.

Don't think i'd be able to sleep with ear plugs :D

I have a goldfish tank it makes a racket but i can still sleep.

Fair enough, i'd probs like to purchase an airpump because they are cool :D

I had this problem before, i sumbmerged my filter as normal, then attached some tubing to it so it was just below the water level and was agitating the water surface..

Dont know if yours is able to do this though..

then i attached the tube to this.

The juwel extension did not fit my filter, but with a bit of force i made it fit

Never mind, hopefully the Tetratec EX600 will be alot quieter in a cupboard :D
