Ow Not Again

that blasting fungus has come back in my tank. i had it ages ago and it wiped my fish stock out. so after a full clean of everything a live plants replaced, i started again with good results now its come back grrr!!! its killed 8 of my guppies so far. i am treating it with anti fungus but its getting worse. there also seems to be somthing growing on the live plants this whiteish fluffy stuff.

what can i do now would adding salt do anything?

Sorry about those 8 fish I had a fish die a while ago from some sort of desease but he was speperated from the other fish when he started showing signes of the desease.

It would be allot of work, but I would say you should quarinine everything in that tank, even the plants, if possible. I don't know how many fish you have and if you have a hospital tank of or anything, but if you do, get all fish with any sign of infection out of the tank! Save the healthy ones! Continue the treatment, and yes, you should get some aquarium salt to add. I use it every time I change the water in my tank and it seems to help. It reduces strass, and exept for the one fish, I have had no diseases in eather of my 2 tanks in the 5-6 moths I've been breeding guppies.

I really hope you can overcome this disaster and not have to start over again. Tell me how it goes!

i agree thanks very much. i realy miss them as they are all my own bred, no point mving any to a hospital tank as all in the tank are infected in some form

it really makes me mad as i have the lasy remaining younge of my blue limias in there

you might have to just gut the tank again and give it one awesome clean with a thin and i mean thin bleach wash, im not experienced in doing bleach washes so im sure someone will be around to advise on the best way, and if ive got it wrong im sorry but hey any thought was worth a try to stop this blasted stuff coming back and wrecking all your hard work again.

i think it was the plants that have caused it, as all i had in the tank were red ramshorns and once i got the plants some kind of other snail appeard a small brown thing sorta like a ramshorm shell but a tad longer than round but has a flat side. ever since these appeard they got ill ive been trying to rid the tank of them but they just keep coming back.
