Okay this is the tank i want to set up...still going over it

120 gallons or more ...(maybe up to 180 if i can find a killer deal)
Sand Subtrate
Over head filters
plenty Drift wood (holes and bends to provide hiding)
Rocks (holy or curved to provide hiding)
Plastic plants
Decor -maybe four-six pieces with holes in it for hiding
4 ghost tubes

Gouramis
1 Gold
1 Blue
2 Kissers
2 Platium
3 Oplaine -(i was told i need 2 females for this fish , this fish might not make the cut ..because of his aggression towards angel fish...and he nipps too...and i want veil angels...hate to cut him out..i love the marble on this fish)

1 Paradise -(he may get cut too ...not because of his teritorial behavior...that is room for that..i hope,....but because he grows to be only 3.5 inches..and i want a rope fish..., Polypertus Palmas , and a spiny peacock eel...and i hear they may eat a fish that size))

2- Rainbow

6- Angels....

2 Bala Sharks

Spiny peacock eel -for a 120 tank...how many should i get?-(will he dig up the plastic plants...? if so...maybe i should get some rock and drift wood with little holes in it...so i can stuff some plants in them... or could i use suction cups and attach them to the bottom of the tank and pour the sand over them)

Polypertus Palmas - I want this one bad...but might not make it...i hear they are clumsy eaters and might choke on the sand subtrate...i want this one because it is the smallest

Rope Fish -might not make it unless i got something bigger 120 gallon , so i hear...it can grow to 2 feet...they don't tell you that in the pet stores....and it might eat my paradise fish

Black ghost knife (might be pushing it )

Black African Knife

Gold nugget Pleco

Banjo Catfish

Spotted Rapheal Catfish

Stripped Rapheal Catfish

FeatherFin Catfish (night not make it...heard it fights with rope fish ...eels or birchir... also what does slime sucker mean?)

Flag tail catfish

Hopolo Catfish

Bristle Nose

is this to much for a 120 gallon tank...what size should i go for if so

I'm pretty sure the rope fish will bother your angels as it might nip at the finiage. I think the angels might be too aggressive for some of your other fish as well. Beyond that....I would say you have to many bottom dwellers and really too many fish prob. I'm not an expert or even a novice with prob 75% of the fish you listed, but I'm gonna say from reading other posts, that this tank wouldn't work.....

ok here is my opinion on wha tyou sould do with your tank :D (only from what i heard, but other members can help more). the tank sounds like it will be good htough once the little thins are fixed (not serious issues at hand). remember, the info iprovide are from what i have read online or from other members' posts on this forum, so don't kill me people :p . if i'm wrong please by all means correct me :good: .

All this sounds good to me.

Don't know much about opalines, i especially didn't know of the 2 female and aggression with them. so maybe getting one? idk someone else help me out here. but the rest sound fine to me.

Cut these, i personally don't like them, and they (the paradise) may be terrorized by the otherlarger guoramies or other larger fish.

2- Rainbow

i hear these are schooing fish (5 or more of the same species) that can grow to a decent size??? someone correct me if i'm wrong.

6- Angels....

i don't know how these would work, there fins may become shredded

2 Bala Sharks

another schooling fish that likes ot be in groups ofat least 5 and they are very skiddish. they would probably need a 120 gal bythemsleves for the school as each grows to 10" (i think)

Spiny peacock eel -for a 120 tank...how many should i get?-(will he dig up the plastic plants...? if so...maybe i should get some rock and drift wood with little holes in it...so i can stuff some plants in them... or could i use suction cups and attach them to the bottom of the tank and pour the sand over them)

these can work well. i hearthey like to be in groups like 3 or more maybe. not necessary, but some say they become much more active and burry themselves less as they are more comfortable in groups. you will see them more as they are in larger groups, or so i hear.

Polypertus Palmas - I want this one bad...but might not make it...i hear they are clumsy eaters and might choke on the sand subtrate...i want this one because it is the smallest

i don't know about palmas, maybe a senegal???

Rope Fish -might not make it unless i got something bigger 120 gallon , so i hear...it can grow to 2 feet...they don't tell you that in the pet stores....and it might eat my paradise fish

i think they need to be in groups of 5 or more to be at "their best".

Black ghost knife (might be pushing it )

this might be a decent idea providing you have peaceful tankmates. i personally want to get one. i had one but it died. i can't wait til i can get out of my apoartment and buy a house, then i'm going ot buy a tank and commit it solely to one of these. that will rock!!!

Black African Knife

sdome members have posted that these can get really nasty. also, you have to choose one kniffish or the other as they get aggressive towards each other as they grow.

Gold nugget Pleco

i don't know much about these plecs, but a lot of people like them. i'm sure htey would be fine in your tank.

Banjo Catfish

this sounds good also (to me at least :D)

Spotted Rapheal Catfish

Stripped Rapheal Catfish

both of the rapheal's like to be in groups also (5 or more). i'm not sure if you can mix, someone help me.

FeatherFin Catfish (night not make it...heard it fights with rope fish ...eels or birchir... also what does slime sucker mean?)

featherfins get aggressive with other "bottom dwellers". slime sucker means that they will suck onto the sides of a fish and literally suck off the slime coat. this is common mostly in protein defficient diets i believe (another correct me if i'm wrong scenerio). plecos are known to do it also (but they only do it if they are forced to rely on soley a veggy diet)

Flag tail catfish

Hopolo Catfish

i don't know anything about the hopolo or flagtail cats sorry :(

Bristle Nose

these are awsome plecos!!! though thye are to expensive for my blood where i live!!! $8-10 US a pop!!! :hyper:

is this to much for a 120 gallon tank...what size should i go for if so

i hope i helped, any false info i gave, please by all means, othermembers correct me!!! :good:

I keep a featherfin currently with 3 peacock eel, a senegal, a false flying fox, and an elephant nose (final stocking reached :) )

anyways, it may be because my candystripe pleco tamed him, but he's the biggest pushover of the tank, and actually spends next to no time in the bottom of the tank, and is usually against a wall behind some plants, as they always have their belly's to the surface. From personal experince, they're too much of a pushover when it comes to territory and being agressive. he needs to take back the cave. :p

now, even for 120 gallons, that sounds like a heck of a lotta surface dwelling fish. (top area)

I concur with rainbows. even if they don't need it, 6+ is good, and I recall them needing it too.

Scratch the bala sharks, and I'd turn the angels down to a pair. And a pair is a female/male that come together that you observe staying together at least 5-7+ min in the store constantly.

3+ on the eels. I love my three. I plant the tank with wisteria and they get up in it instead of burying themselves.

Senegals Are the shortest I know. Again, safe with the fish I have.

120 + gallons? Go for the black ghost knife.
