Hey

After reading most of the other topics i noticed that i must have the smallest tank here. lol :(
I also noticed that i seem to have more fish than people with larger tanks can somone please tell me if im overstocking details are:
Tank size = Length -61cm
Width - 31cm
Depth - 37cm
I know its 54 litres which i think is just over 12 gallons. (Uk)
Fish = 1 female siamese fighter
3 small corys ( 2 pandas 1 leapord )
1 Dwarf gorumai
3 small clown loach

I know the clown loach will grow a lot larger and i have plans to buy a 100x30x37 tank or will this also be to small?

Clowns really need around the 85 uk gallon mark (around 72"x18"x18" which If I remember right is 180 x 45 x 45 in cm) so that tank would not do them forever.

Negating that your tank shouldn't be too bad so long as you have a fair filter and keep up the maintenance (keep a close eye on ammonia, nitrate and nitrite levels).

On a more encouragin note I make 61 x 31 x 37 = 69967 cubic cm. therefore the tank is 69.967 (or 70) litres, from http://www.onlineconversion.com/waterweight.htm

or;

15.4 UK gallons

or;

18.5 US gallons

So it's bigger than you thought.

The female betta (siemese fighting fish) and the cories are fine, but have you noticed any aggression issues between the gourami and the betta? They can be aggressive towards each other, but if everythings going peacefully then I would leave them.
You might want to add 1 more panda cory and 2 more leapord cories as each species like to be in groups of 3+ (4 is better, but you don't have enough room).

The problem is the clown loaches (which you have already pointed out). They do get large and need a tank in the 100 gallon range.

Is the 100x30x37 in cm or inches? If its in inches, the tank would be 480 (imperial) gallons, which would be awesome for clown loaches, but if its in cm, then it would be too small for them, as it would only be about 24 (imperial) gallons.

Thanks for the help.

Good news to hear its larger than i thought. I havent noticed any agression between the gourami and the betta although they always seem to be opposite sides of the tank. Im hopefully gettin a job in the holidays which should help fund for a new larger tank.
The loaches are all around the 4inch mark and ive had them about 6months now (i couldnt tell you how old they were when i bought them but they were pretty small so im guessing youngish. How long before my tank will be way too small? because im going to have to give the new tank time to cycle because as we all know clown's are a very delicate species. Thanks for the previous help :) Dan

Once the clowns are around half to two thirds the size of the width of your tank so in your tank by the time they hit 6 inches it is time to evacuate.

As you already have a tank up and running you can clone the current one by moving some of your filter media and substrate over to the new tank (do a search for cloning for more info). If you clone then you can stock instantly. I've done it 5 times and am about to do my 6th tomorrow.
