Hi all, been reading some of the posts and decided to join up!

Ive had my tank for about 2-3 months now and all is well, i have lost my clown loaches to white spot in the first month which i was gutted about! but all my other fish are healthy and the water quality always seems to be pretty gud with about 50% water changes every 2 weeks

i currently have
4 guppys ( one male ) (one baby guppy hiding in the corner who wasnt expected but pretty cool its survived, (getting bigger now hehe)
4 glowlight tetras
3 neon tetras
2 dwarf plecs
2 red tuxedo platys

and one fish who i havent got a clue what he is.... if any1 can tell me what he is it'd be much appreciated!. he has whiskers but is like a tetra in shape, and has a black strip going through the middle he somehow got in with the other tetras and the women in the shop said he was a freebie! ( i dont know how to upload pics  )

i currently have a 60L tank with dimensions of 60cm x 35cm x 30cm with a fluval 2 filter

all my fish are pretty small and i maybe want 1-2 bottom dwellers who are quite active and a little bigger but i dont know if im pushing the boat out by getting more fish as i feel maybe that i proberly have enough

thanx guys

hi
to upload images you can use a hosting site such as www.imageshack.us
there you can find the file on your pc and the site will upload it for you, you then can copy the 'direct link' to this page

edit: you may want to upload a pic of your "dwarf plecs" as unless you know their real name they could well be your common plec,

Well first you need to post pictures of your plecs and unknown fish.

The plecs may not be as dwarf as you think they are, and the unknown fish could be bad.

You could get away with putting a couple of corys in, try 3 or more.

im going to say your slightly over stocked but you are doing large water changes. bottom dwellers... cory cats are good but you need to have them in 5+ if you want them to be happy and for you to get the most out of them. the unknown fish i have no idea about so sorry.
im not sure if you know this or not so ill say it anyway (i dont mean to be rude by pointing out the obvious), guppys are livebeares and will give birth to live young, they can have fry every month or two if they want to so you should have a plan of action so is all three females get pregnant you know what you are going to do with the fry.
have fun and welcome to the fourm!

That is a pygmy cory, I'm pretty sure of it.

They are mid/bottom dwellers.

I think you should get a few more of them and then call it that.

I just saw the pleco, I suppose they are both the same.

It does indeed look like a dwarf pleco, a bristlenose pleco which maxes out about 4 inches.

If you get a few pygmy corys (because they need friends) you'll be fine as long as you do water changes enough!

50 every 2 weeks is good though 25% per week is better.

Have you got a test kit? For Ammonia, Nitrite and Nirate?

cool! not a bad freebie then! do you know how big they grow? they never go to the top when feeding flakes, they scavenge through the gravel and like to be within the plants

i call him the goth for the black strip original lol

thanx for the replies guys, i have also uploaded a pic of my dwarf plec (well i hope it is) ifyou look at the other ones i have loaded up, i love the plecs but want something abit more lively as they are very lazy

yes i have a test kit which does it all in one (sorry for the last reply i didnt read down!) all the levels are fine and i am due for a water change about now :good:

They grow to 3cm about.

Yep they should do that, you should get catfish pellet food because it sinks really quick.

You should get more pygmys if you want an active bottom fish, if it's not active now, it will be when It gets some friends.

Your levels are fine, just keep the water changes up and add a few pygmys. The plecos are bristlenoses I'm pretty sure so that's good.

thanx buddy big help at least i know what i have now

to the overstocking answer from bennie if u read up i wasnt sure if i am overstocking or not and the cory was added in as by the time the women caught the tetras aand went to the counter she said i could have him so i wasnt complaining

cheers :D i was worried some1 was going to say its rubbish you need to do this that and the other, just been reading up on the pygmy cory and they sound really cool as before i wanted something abit bigger like my plec size but i think these will be really cool in my tank
