OK.

I was just wondering if eveyone could give there thoughts on my tank. I mean weather you think it's over-stocked or not. (Stats at the bottom of page)

I personaly think it looks just right.

Oh yes, and here are a couple of pix, sorry if there too small.

I think you're fine, just make sure you watch the level of guppy and platy fry you have, if you have mixed sexes. :good:

I do have 1 female guppy, but she's still only a few months old. And the platys are all male.
I wasn't planing for any baby fry at all, but i got my female for free so i can't complane really. :shifty:

thanks for your reply.

Sounds ok to me, too, but yeah, watch the fry. Runaway breeding with livebearers could overstock it pretty fast. My danios like to eat livebearer fry, though, so having 8 of them should help contain their numbers. Edit: Missed the part about only having one female. Chances are you won't have any fry survive to adulthood, so you'll be fine. With all the males around, she'll be almost constantly pregnant, so there's a chance you might have a couple make it. If they do, the tank can probably handle a few more, just keep them under control.

There's really no easy rules to go by. There's the one inch per gallon rule - it's an intentional underestimate. It used to be the standard rule, but now it's used more to keep new tanks and new owners from getting carried away too quickly. There's a lot of limiting factors - surface movement/gas exchange, filtration, volume, surface area, tank length...

You have a test kit? Once a tank is cycled, provided ammonia and nitrite are always 0, the fish are behaving normally and you can get sufficient food to them all without overfeeding, you can generally say it's not overstocked, though you have to keep in mind growth, but that's not really an issue with your fish. There's a lot of estimation and guesswork in it, and really it comes down to experience, water testing and maintenance routine as much as it does to stocking rules.

Wow thanks Corleone that's a good help.
I have to say i was a bit worried when i saw my 1 guppy fry develope into a female, But if what you say is correct i shouldn't have any problems at all.
I'm goin to wait a few months untill i get any more fish, apart from deciding what i want next, i want to wait untill the tank matures some what first.
