Overstocked?

Hi,

I was just wondering whether my tank is overstocked or not. The details of my tank and its occupants are in my sig below. any advice would be appreciated

i dont' think so. you have 9 fish, non of which are very big. sounds like a nice simple setup. as long as you keep your tank clean, have a good filter and its cycled, you can have a little more than the 1" of fish per 1 gal of water rule. just practice good tank maintenance and keep and eye on water parameters.

nope i would say u could fit in a about maybe three small fish then ur be larghing lol i eman ur have a nice full beutiful tank

It doesn't appear to be overstocked - probably just about right if you are looking to have a lower maintenance tank (well, for 10g at least). If you are willing to do little more work, few more small fishes should be fine...

well for star it would probably be best if u added some more of thsoe tetra seeing how they need to be in groups of six so four more tetras would be very goof idea!

when i first looked at it i mis read and i thought that you had a 55 gallon. i was about to tell you to throw some more fish in right now!
but now that i've figured it out i'd say it still seems pretty empty. i like my tanks over stalked a little, but it is harder to maintain. as a few other members suggested, a few more tetra's would be a good pik itf you're looking to add more!

Not a bad idea about adding some more of the X-ray tetras (they are great fish ) but wouldn't adding 4 more of them make my tank really overstocked?

I did have a thought of adding a couple of white clouds?


Ugh.... this is so annoying , there are so many fish that I would like to have. Wish I could persuade my parents to let me get a bigger tank (it would have to go in the living room though), don't think that's gonna happen

I thought the same thing at first! I was wondering why you were even asking if it was overstocked! Then I noticed it was a 10.5 gallon tank and realized the reason you were asking....

It looks like you've done an excellent job with this one. It's absolutely beautiful! They should be proud to have one like this in their living room.

Anyway, Christmas is coming and it's not too soon to start dropping hints.
