You can ask questions about your stock here, I'm gonna ask my own.

So, I am getting a ten gallon tank to upgrade my Betta's home. I looked at a few websites and found if I added 5 neon tetras, it would be 76% stocked, is this wrong? I was just going to do my Betta and a few mystery snails. I just thought I'd see what y'all think. If it is super off, just tell me :)
Now, for your questions!

General consensus of Betta experts is that Betta should be kept alone. Some say they're ok with other fish, and it depends on your Betta's temperament - some will go nuts and go on a killing rampage, others won't.
If your Betta doesn't go on a rampage, that doesn't necessarily mean its happy and not stressed.

I would suggest getting a betta first and watching him for a moth or two. These fish have a big personality and the type of fish you can keep with them depends on the tank size and betta's temperament. Snails can be kept with bettas there shouldn't be any trouble.

If you plan to add a schooling fish, get to know your betta first and then decide if you want to keep more fish with him. Make sure there is a lot of hiding spaces for the betta or other fish. Don't get anything that might fin nip your betta or outcompete him for food. I would suggest something like green neon tetra.

Hope this helps

Also, be aware that it is much easier to overfeed a betta when they are in a community tank.

Yes, my Betta is not aggressive.. It is to the point where Iworry about him, I have never seen him flare. Not even once when I first got him. It has been a year and a half and I have never seen him flare, If I put a mirror close to him he gets scared and swims away. I think if anything the Neons would bully him. Thanks though.

Okay. Is it possible that my Betta doesn't over eat? I went on vacation once and had someone feed him. I came home to DOZENS of food peices uneaten. She fed him once when I was home and there were 12 pellets! 12!! He also sometimes leave one or two (I normally feed two in the morning and a piece of shrimp or two at night) Thanks!

Yes, I have had Azul for a year and a half. I have found he is not very agressive, it actually worries me a bit. He is scared of his reflection and has never flared that I have seen. Thank you though! I know I would need at least a 30 gal if I were to add Neons, I want plenty of space. It was a stupid question. Thank you!

I do have one fish that only picks at his food, but my other 3 betta will eat themselves sick. One I keep in a 10 gallon with shrimp, one is in a 15 with shrimp, pygmy cories, and ember tetra, and one is in a 5.5 by himself. I recently rehomed one from a 20 gallon with neons, pepper corydoras, and snails.
