I very much doubt you could overdose CO2 using that method.
Your CO2 concentration is going to be all over the place though (not stable), which in turn will give algae headaches. If the tank needs CO2, then pressurized is the way to go. If you can't do that, then look into lowering the lighting and supply easycarbo.
