Overflow Problems On Sump

I have a 5500lph pump going frm my sump into the tank , however the overflows in the tank are not getting the water back to the sump quick enough. I've tried adding a 1000lph pump into the tank to help remove the water but the sump still go's dry and the tank overflows.

The two holes i have are 32mm each for overflows. Does anyone have any ideas? More holes? if so what size would i need?

Not to wurry got a 1800lph pump in the tank directly to the overflow this solved the issue.
