i have a 15g with 1 golden sucking loach, 6 serpae tetras, 6 cherry barbs and 3 guppys, i was wondering if i can add a few more guppys in the tank (male) maybe 2 or 3 to make them feel a bit more at home or could i add a female betta cos i would like male but the serpaes could attack his fins so a a female could be the next best thing, will this make the tank massivly overcroweded or do you think i could get away with it?
i have an elite fliter, air stone plenty of plants and change the water 30% every 2weeks. and i has been set up for about 4 months now

thanks

You've probably heard this a lot but that CAE (Golden Sucking Loach) will turn into a right evil git when I grows a little more. If you got rid of the CAE and done twice the water changes you might be able to keep a few more guppies. Probably best waiting for a more experienced member to reply of course :)

yeh im have had loads of comments about my cae but i dont know where to give it to, should i just kill it? or put an ad in the paper ( killing a bit harsh i think lol )

the best thing is try to get a better suited home for him, i.e. a local aquatics store that may be willing to rehome him, or someone you know with a larger aquarium with much hardier fish

Perosnally I would just add 1 more guppy to bring the total to 4, remove the CAE, and increase water changes to about 20 to 25% per week

Phone up your fish shop. Provided it's not a chain, it should take it back. You might even be able to swap it for a few guppies! If you don't ask, you don't get!
