Over temp penalty...all gone.

I don't know where to start.

One new world tank all finished.

I've just come home to a tank full of dead and dying fish.

The heater was stuck on, and I guess it has boiled the tank. The tank was very hot. I'm gutted. Twin Tronic's and one goes loopy. I've been out since 6 AM and I didn't check the tank this morning, so it could have been on all night, and all today.

I think the rainbows are going to be ok for some strange reason, they are happy after a gradual water change to bring the temperature down slowly. I can't be sure though. The rest are dead, or I have had to help them on their way.

I would ask for some suggestions on saving some more, but I guess its going to be more damage limitation. I've put the standard juwel heater back in for now.

Hi all,

Returned to the tank at about 6.30. The rainbows are doing ok, along with two of the cardinals. Tank temp now stable at 26 C.

My whole Jade-eye family are gone, 5 altogether. Both of my Sajicas, and my plec looks a bit sick this morning.

I guess its my fault. I had Two 300w heaters in the tank, because its in a doorway, and during the winter it chills a lot.

sorry to hear about your loss. i got lucky once when my co2 system went on the fritz because i came home for lunch that day. i found them all gasping on the bottom, but if i hadn't come home for lunch they would've all died. sorry again to hear about what happened to you.

and whats up with juwel heaters? they are a heater you dont see it so whats the problem?
sorry about the fish try to figure out ehat went wrong with the heater and then you know for next time, My dad did that with marines and it looks sad to see them in the corner not breating but still alive neary made me cry it did.
