I have a 120 litre/ 31.2 Litre tank. I have a 12cm silver shark, 5-2/3cm neons, 2-6cm bulldog plecos and 2- 6cm clown loaches. I have had them for about 5 monthes and they all seem to be settled in.
(so I must be doing somthing right)

My question is can I put another Silver shark in or will it be over crowded.
The shark I have looks lonely . He is abit scared when I go to the tank and sometimes freaks out and slams against the side of the tank, maybe a friend might help.

any answers would be helpful.

I'm sorry to say no, in fact your tank is two small really for the shark and the loaches. I've just moved my two Bala's from a 120 litre to a 4ft tank and I'm still looking to rehome them. Bala's are very peaceful but skitish, I've had mine a few years now and they still dart away from me even at feeding times. They also like to jump even if you have a lid they will try. I believe that 600 litre is the min size tank for these guys. I bought mine when I was a newbie saw 6cm and thought great Ideal. Doh - now I know better.

Hmmm I was afraid of that. Looks like im going to have to re-home the shark and loaches after all... :(
Altough im getting a bigger tank eventually I think that its best to re-home them.

Ill pay abit more attention to research in the future. That being said I would then have 5 neons and two bulldog pleco's left. Do you have any hints/tips as to what else can live with them in a 120litre. (dont say more neon's! Although a large group of neon's aint a bad idea :) )

Its really down to what you like the look off and compatability with what you already have. I think there are some useful threads regarding this on this site.

There is loads!

You don't want anything bigger than about 4-5 inches, but there are loads of smaller fish!

There are some very cute botia and loach species that don't get too big, such as zebra loaches and skunk botia. You could have small catfish like corys and otos, maybe another school of some different tetras or rabsoras . . .

I guess a good guide would be:

8-10 x neons OR 5 x neons and 5 x other shoaling fish
2-4 x mid-water fish (so maybe small gouramis, dwarf cichlids, mollys, swoard tails, etc)
6 x corys or other small catfish (all same species)
2 x bulldog plecs

=)
