I would like to know why more algae grows in aquariums during winters in north India? It is despite the fact that I maintain a uniform temperature in the Tank all the year round. Availability of light is also the same....thanks.

Maybe it is running from the cold?

Do you keep any windows open around the fish tank?

this is way off topic..but i really want to know what type of fish that is in your picutre thingy there nukeonekitty?

Metriaclima estherae (red zebra) - African cichlid - mbuna

Maybe the nutrient content of the water increases as the water evaporates from reservoirs, rivers etc. If that were the case then the algae would be at its worst just before the monsoon. Should that be true then more plants would consume the nutrients in winter and help with the algae.
