Our New Zoanthidae

Being still quite newbie ish,I thought I would post an image of our new Yellow Polyps or (Protopalythoa sp). Well, that's what we think it is. It has been with us for about a week and is looking just fine. We think it may even be growing.

My question is will it colonate the large rock I have placed it on as it may have to grow 'downhill' for a while and how often should I feed it. I have Marine Snow and frozen plankton.

Looks great Lucy. More often than not, frags will not slide downwards like you pictured, they usually need a "ledge" to travel across. Exceptions to this rule are encrusting SPS like monitpora and mushrooms which will grow just about any way they feel like

That's pretty We nearly bought one just like it on our last coral-buying spree....is definately on the list for our next shopping trip...keep us informed how it's growing please!!!

Thanks for all the compliments. Sure builds your confidence when starting out.

I may move it to an area where it will find the 'terrain' easier for populating other rocks.

I will keep you informed.
