Fish Fanatic
Hi
We got 4 platys (2 rainbow and 2 red calico) yesterday and I just wanted to check a couple of things regarding their behavior. The 2 rainbows seem to have spent most of their time munching algae from a piece of wood (which isn't a bad thing but I didn't realise they ate algae)
and pooing constantly. A female rainbow also seems to be quite aggressive towards my lemon tetras and chases them off if they get too close to the bit of wood she's munching off. The 2 red calicos haven't eaten any algae only the flake food from the top of the water. and seem to keep themselves to themselves.
Do the different colour variations have typically different behaviour? Are platys normally quite messy or aggressive? Does this all sound normal - they seem to have settled in quite well but I'm not sure the female rainbow is a hit with the tetras!
Thanks!
