Hi Gang,

We just started getting into the world of tropical fish. This tank was purchased from our neighbor. We are planning a major renovation in the next week or so, but here is what we have for now.

I am a advid photographer (visit our site to see what we really shoot milezone.com) and hope to in the near future bring you all some cool shots of the tank and fish. These were all shot in like a few minutes for a quick peek. All comments and suggestions are welcome.

The basic tank layout, 2 of the darker plants are real

ugh. I hate to be the one to say goldfish are cold water...

you probably know that, But I'm just saying....

Great photos though! I'd personally take those gems out of the tank and get some live plants in all over the place.

Really great photos, I wish I could do that good, although, as Gankutsuou said, you may want to consider rehoming your goldfish. It may look okay now, but in the long run it'll hurt poor Big Momma :/

Still new at this, so learning as we go. We removed the 2 goldfish and put them back in the 5 gallong tank we first used.

I am planning on doing a cool rock scene on one end, and transforming to a full on plant jungle. Sorry guys but we are going to stick with fake plants for now. If we decide to go with a bigger tank in the future, I will consider real plants. Allthough I will leave 1 real plant in there. :good:

BTW our Angel Fish dies today, so we had our first loss in the new tank. Hopefully the last for awhile.

Mmm..

How big does that Goldfish go? Isn't a 5 gallon a bit to small?

He has been in that tank for about a year now. Ya a bit small but don't know what else to do with him?

Hi There,

I am quite experienced in product photography (visit milezone.com to see what we do) and have a Nikon D70 with 2 light kits, and my main lens is a Nikon 50mm 1.2. Kinda pricey kit but a must for our business. The tank was just shot quick with no lights (other than flash) and yes once I get the tank setup how we want, and learn a bit more in tank photography, I promise to produce smokin hot photos for you all. :good:

1st tip is to get a camera you are comfortable with, and shot, shot, shot. The more you shot, the more you will understand. And then Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro (My preference) is amust if you want to do some clean photo retouching. The photos you see up top are really quite so-so, and I should have waited till we can do it right, but promise to bring more your way soon.

Thats an interesting technique.

I have heard that the way people on this forum do it, is using the lights of tank only. So the room is dark and you take pictures with no flash just using just the tank lights.
