Sorry, I keep posting pics of my fish but I just love taking them, and when I get a good one I feel like sharing with all you lovely people :snap:

Here is my Oto doing a bumble bee impression on my first ever and newly opened Anubias flower

and a couple of piccies of my Neon's (I always find them rather hard to photograph)

It almost like they have been put on the blurry background :D

Let me know what you think.

Stunning piccies  but those file sizes (MP) on photobucket must be ginormous - as even on my super fast broadband it's slow to download and see
Nice depth of field on that last pic

I know, but the more I downsize them, they start to look blurry (I have already downsized them by over 50% and they are about 163k on Photobucket!) . It is my new camera's fault is has 6 mp.

Amazing pics. No matter how hard I try my pics of fish always turn out just a little blurred. Probably has something to do with my digital camera :shifty: . By chance do you use a tripod? I've thought about it but never tried it. Anyway those are some really stunning pics. Especially of the neons. Hard to believe its soo crisp.

No, I have never used a tripod, I just rest my elbow on something nearby to steady my hand :D. I am so pleased with this camera (Olympus SP500-UZ), it has a 10x optical zoom, and a double macro so I can get some nice close shots.

...again, great pics Julia!

With resizing the pics, what program do you use? i think its all about the program!?

When i use photoshop theres no degradation in picture quatilty at all?

You're right - I use Adobe photoshop too - and sometimes "Arcsoft Photoimpression" (came with my canon software I think) - and it merely reduces the actual size; not the quality of the pic.

Yes, cos try resize the same pic in mspaint and see the diff in quality!

Also, and im not sure on this but if u resize a picture thats been resized already may have a bad impact on the quality!

Thanks for your kind replies, I am rather pleased with them myself

has the oto got whitespot???
nice pics!!!

Can no-one look at pictures without assuming that the fish must be dead or dying. If it had whitespot then surely I would have posted it the "tropical fish emergency" section?? :<

In answer to your question, NO it does not have whitespot, it is the flash from my camera!!

For everyone reading, I do apologise for "flying off the handle" (I usually bite my tongue), but why can't people just be nice, and not trawl the forum to find fault?

That oto, what a cutie!

i was being nice....i said nice pics...i was just asking if it had white spot. gosh people need to calm down and stop jumping to conclusions...

that woudl be you jumping to conclusions Dany, anyone can see there's no whitespot on the oto.

Great pics julibob, which my camera would focus that well close up or if I could hold me hand still!
