We're finally at our lake cabin in a decent-sized city with a couple of reasonable LFSs where we're going to get some fish to bring home ... yeah!!

We'll be getting enough cories for the 15g and 20g, and I'd also like to get the right algae eaters for my 55g tank. It's not overrun with algae or anything, but there's a bit on some of my plants and it's starting on the glass a bit. Any suggestions? Thanks!

If you have suitable stocking then shrimp would be a good idea. In a 55g cherry shrimp would be a good choice, as they are cheap and breed very quickly, so you could have quite a big colony in no time. My cherry shrimp sit on the glass and east the algae off it, it's really funny to watch.

Siamese algae eaters are also good algae eaters, they grow quite big though, and they will eat moss. But they did a great job of cleaning my tanks of algae and are sorting out my brothers algae problem now (we need to get blinds for the window, as the tank is facing a south facing window).

cheers :good:

There are a few very similar (identical looking) species of Siamese Algae Eater. Each species eats something different. It is only Crossocheilus atrilimes that eats moss.

My Crossocheilus siamensis also eat moss, as do a few other species.

cheers :good:
