Not really.. even breeding doesn't always generate much of a profit. A friend of mine has a large fish house as a hobby and supplies most of our area with Angel Fish, Various Gourami and Corydoras & on average gets £1 a fish. Considering the costs involved running the fish house, growing the fish on to sale size and the time involved he never really makes a profit but it covers his costs and meets the demand. Also most stores these days prefer to give credit rather than real cash.. :(

Ok for supplies but there is only so much fish food and equipment one needs ;)

Only thing I used to do when I was younger.. was I had a part time job that paid for my fish food and equipment.. also did Car Washing, Paper-round etc..

[Edited to make this comment; Reading what I had written made myself laugh.. I sound like an old man but I have only just had my 29th Birthday LMAO)

I guess it could be considered a variety of breeding, but growing out plants is a good one.

Another would be pimping your tank set-up skills. I've seen this especially on the marine side of things.

Plants and snails is probably the way to go, or shrimp.
Snails are becomming more popular, as are shrimp.
Though don't expect to make mega bucks off them, you might not even cover the cost of keeping them (tank, filter etc.).

I've seen this too. Most lfs have bulletin boards with lost/missing pets and services offered by other people etc. I have seen someone put signs up that they do tank setups/maintenance/stocking etc.

Plants would be the way to go. I have on plenty of ocassions sold lots on eBay but nowdays dont have the time for it.

Nim

How would you ship the plants though? Wouldnt they die on the way there or become damged in some way?
