Other Fish?

Hi,
Im starting a 55 gallon fish tank with 1 gold severum, 1 bristlenose pleco, 3 dwarf gouramis, 1 african brown knife fish, and 3 clown loaches. I want to put some other community fish in there but I dont know what to put in. Any recomendations?

Hey your tank sounds kinda like mine. If you didn't have the Gouramis then I would suggest Tiger Barbs, they're an awesome little bunch in mine. They would probably harrass the Gouramis to death though. You could always trade the Gouramis for Tigers... If they are male Gouramis then they will fight with each other anyway, the two in my 29 Gal do. I think one of them took a chunk out of the others skin, I gotta figure out something to do with them now.

I was thinking of getting rid of the gouramis. Tiger Barbs are pretty cool also. Any More Replies?

The 3 CL's and a Severum are going to fill that tank when fully grown so i wouldn't get too carried away, think about their potential size, not what they are now.
