Ive recently set up a 450 ltr tank and transfered my albino 8-9" oscar into it but also added a smaller red map oscar into it. Everything seemed fine for about 5 days but today and yesturday evening my albino has started chasing him round the tank and what looks like trying to bite him. The red map isnt hurt and its not happening all the time but i dont like seeing it happen.

What i want to know is, is this typical dominant behaviour and will it be a phase ? or will this worsen because i am in two minds whether to take him back to the shop tomorow.

I dont want to take him back because the red map is beautiful and the two of them have been getting along great all week. Thanks

Usually they will be ok together at the start, but the albino does see the tank as his territory and is trying to show his dominance. How big is the red oscar?

You could try to re-arrange the tank to break up territory, placing some larger plants/wood near the middle to break up any line of sight which may help, if the behaviour continues though, it will be best to return the smaller O or he could become stressed or even damaged in the albinos attempts to control the tank.
