right I noticed the other week a shiny patch on my Oscar's head, it's white and kind of iridescent, doesn't look fluffy like fungus, he's behaving completely normally (well for an Oscar  ) eating fine and showing no signs of disease whatsoever. Don't even know if there's anything wrong, just wondering what it is? He has a habit of jumping out the tank and hitting his head on things, so could it be bruising? any thoughts?

What your stats like, patches like that can mean bacterial to parasite, look closely to see if you can see any pitting, like pencils dints.
Anys other signs or flicking and rubbing on objects, increased breathing, or darting about.

stats are fine, checked them all a day or so ago, amonia and nitrite 0, can't remember nitrate but it was ok.

would the pitting be on the patches or anywhere else?

we thought he could be jumping for food and burning his head on the lights or something like that?

no flicking or rubbing, acting completely normally, breathing normally, not rushing anywhere. It's got me a bit confused.

Just keep a close eye on him, maybe add abit of melafix for now.
