i am just wondering if anyone can help me....as i really have only got the basic down pat im experimenting with different fish has anyone succesfully had an ascar fish in a tropical community tank with medium to large size dish? have a baby oscar and hes only about 2 1/2 inches long can they be tamed or is it like trying to tame a crocodille???? he is not agressive at all

welcome. i had 2 tiger oscars and they got to about 10-12 " long, they would eat out of my hand, come to the surface if i opened up the tank and were very friendly, they lived with a clown loach, a couple of plecs, some guppies and mollies, but due to thier size we had to take them to a local shop, since then we have got a 100 gallon tank with some red bellied pirahnas in their!!!! good luck with him!!!!!! :)

Hi pando and welcome to the forum. :hi:

You will probably get more replies if you post this in the New World Cichlid section. Before you will be able to post there though, you will have to validate your membership by going to the email you received when you registered and click the link. If you never received it, check any spam blockers you may be running to make sure it didn't get blocked there or sent to a bulk folder. You can also have it resent to you by going to "My Controls" at the top of the page and clicking the link at the top right there.
