Hey all ...

I just wanted 2 ask a pretty simple question ...

As some may know I am gettin a new tank for my oscar (140g) ... His current tank is a 63g and his light stopped working ... I have also stripped his tank of everything but gravel, filters and heater.

My question ...

Can the oscar stay in a tank with no lights for a week or 2, I wouldnt say the tank gets great light but its a semi decent amount of light during the day, and could I remove all the gravel from the tank and have just the filters and heater running so I can start 2 fill and cycle the other tank (will cycle a week or 2 even though I am using everything from the previous tank <gravel, driftwood, filter+media, plants, etc>)

Sorry if this is an novice question but rather a question asked than a consequence suffered.

Regards,
Richard.

As long as he gets some amount of light not pure darkness he should be fine. Lights on freshwater tanks with out plants are mostly for aesthetic viewing purposes.

Hey hey...

Normall in the morning b4 I switch his light on, there is already enough light 4 me 2 see clearly in the tank and 4 him 2 see me as he starts beggin 4 food as soon as I enter the room ... lol

I will see if I cant get a replacement globe but as u said he should be fine.

Thanks for your reply !! ...

Regards,
Richard.
