Sunday I came home to find my Oscar on top of the net I've covered my tank with. Its head was jammed into one square and it's tail in the other. Now when I say its head was jammed I mean I had to cut the net to keep from making it worse. A gill cover was a bit cut and one side dried out. I had to gently rub its pec fins back out it was maybe as long as two hours it sat there. That's how long I was gone anyhow though it must not have spent all that time out since it swam off as soon as the pecs were unstuck. Color seems back up today (it was white with grey trim yesturday instead of white and orange with black trim) not all normal yet though. I haven't seen it eat yet (might this morning though). Will it be okay?

Should I pull it to qt or leave it be?

I took a few days to make sure it wasn't just going to croak. I thought that may be the case when I first pulled it out but it seems on the mend and I want to help it out if I can.

I would try to get the oscar into stable condition in the original tank first, and when he seem ok, move him to QT to heal any wounds with meds :)

Use some Melafix on it. I have learned to like the way that melafix works on treating wounds. I use to no use the stuff at all because I thought it caused a fish of mine to die. But that was when I first starting keeping fish and didnt know anything at all about them. Now I have 15 tanks and one giant 180 gallon tank which I love.

Thanks guys.

It died the day I posted this. I the new one manages to die off I'll have give up on oscars and be content with my big jack.
