My Chinese friend bought himself an Oscar at the beginning of this year, and is now faced with the fact that everything else he had in his tank has been eaten by the hungry Oscar. His tank is 1.20 x 0.50 x 0.70 which makes 420 litres or around 110 gallons if I am not mistaken.
I read the pinned topic on Oscars and he matches the description in terms of food, jumping etc. Now this article talks about silver dollars and tinfoil barbs as possible mates, but I have not seen these here. Now I wonder what else could be possible mates, taking into account the tank size.
Here are the following fish available: parrots, some other cichlids that I do not recognise, arowanas (very cheap!), larger catfish, larger banded gouramis, giant gourami, and further only smaller species that will definitively not make it (tiger barbs, pearl and dwarf gouramis, mollies, platies, guppies etc.). Does this choice include anything suitable?
