I have an oscar and 2 iridescent sharks in a small bowl while im getting some cash together to buy a bigger 25 gal tank. I have a diffuser and 02 pump hooked into the tank. my fish wont eat though. Any reason why?

u probably just got them. they need to be acclimitized.

By the way, ID Sharks can grow to be 2-3 feet, so they are not an ideal aquarium fish at all. That oscar is going to need waay more than that fish bowl of yours too. At least a 75g aquarium for himself. They will also need, a good power or canister filter, a heater and meaty foods.

Final Word: Get A PROPER SETUP ASAP OR RETURN THE FISH!

My guess would be that ammonia has built up in the small bowl. Do you have a test kit?

Also, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but even a 25 gallon tank will be too small for these fish in the long run. Iridescent sharks can get up to 12 inches long, and oscars can get up to 14 inches. For all three fish, i'm guessing a 90 gallon tank, minimum. Unless you can afford a LARGE tank, i seriously recomend you re-home these fish, and consider some smaller fish. The smallest recomended tank size for ONE oscar is 75 gallons. Check out these species profiles for some more information.

Oscars
Iridescent sharks *this is from another site as TFF doesn't have a profile on these guys

25 gallons isn't going to cut it I'm afraid, you're going to have to look at something much bigger for them. The fish will be ill because of their living conditions, and if you don't want them to die you'll eed to either upgrade or return them. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
