Organization Of Betta Area?

I feel that a lot of posts get thrown around here everyday. Does anyone else think that this forum would benefit from having Betta Sub Topics?

i.e. Betta Care, Help, Show Your Betta, Betta Talk..... etc.... I'm fairly new here and things just seem to get pages behind very quickly..... and sorting through so many different kinds of posts is already getting old for me.

Here Here! I only read Betta topics and, I am sorry not being rude, but I find the layout of the board not very user friendly and not very colourful. Sad individual that I am..

No need to feel sorry about it! A forum should cater to the members...... and as a specific forum grows, so should the options. This is what keeps a successful forum going. I'm only asking because forum moderators/admins need to be informed. Otherwise, the betta forum is "just fine" from the admin's standpoint.

I'm with you on this too

Some really important topics get missed on here as they are thown about between topics with pictures of peoples new bettas, not that they're not importand but if there was in a sub catagory for them it would clean this space up alot, giving room for general questions and help.

If not broken down even more but i say one for pics would be great and is greatly needed

I totally agree! Maybe pm william (the site admin) about it, see what he thinks, but having subforums would definatly be a good idea!!!

I think we definitely need a subforum for posting photos of bettas- that seems to account for about half of the posts, so it would be a good way to split up the forum.

I also wish the gourami forum were more active!

I really haven't been here long enough to know who the moderators or site admins are... perhaps somebody a little bit more "seasoned" with this site could pm an admin this topic?

YAY SUB FORUMS!!!!!! i think that would be great. like its been said one pics one for emergensies one for tanks etc. would help sort things out. i get in trouble cause i spend hours sorting through everything might quicken things up a bit for us all

major bump. now that i have been around the site for a while.... it seems apparent that some sections get out of control in terms of organization..... the betta section is certainly one of the worst.

I understand that there is no apparent "need" for change. .... but this section would certainly be more efficient with proper divisions. Breeding and Advanced Betta Problems could be other categories.

On my early suggestions regarding this topic, I was informed that sub-forums would cause confusion. I couldn't disagree more. Experienced members could post in specified forums for better input and faster response. Newbies may post in the wrong area, but could easily be deferred to a new section. Keep in mind, the basic Betta section would be open for posts. Sub-sections would only help members organize their posts and get appropriate responses faster.

An active control of betta moderators could easily manage this sort of forum........... and i do not see active moderation in this section anymore. Although there are certainly members that are knowledgeable and helpful in the betta section on a regular basis.

i definitely agree. although there is a member's aquarium and fish pictures forum, i think that many members would be annoyed at the huge flood of pictures which would come from the betta keepers. at least on this forum they tend to be appreciated
