I'm about to put a large order in with tfdfish.com. There prices seem great on both fish and shipping has anybody ever ordered from them? And do you recommend them or not? We are going to have a very large order so I want to make sure we will be getting quaility fish. The fish we are getting are also going to be delicate fish stingrays, discus, arrowna, dwarf puffers, eels, koi, catfish, loaches and some other fish (not all in the same tank I will combine orders with a couple friends to save on shipping). Please let me know what you think of them.

No, haven't used them. One that I'm thinking of using here in the near future is azgardens.com, unless I hear something different.

Nobody has ever dealt with tfdfish.com? I would like to here about your experiences with this supplier before I spend all of this money on fish.

I've never heard of it before, I'll see if I can find some info for you.
Royce and Kris, I sent you a PM about azgardens.

EDIT::
Quote from another forum:
Thumbs up tfd thanks job well done........
quick run down of my dealing with tfd.

sent email re: black aro's.........
response by email 'we have plenty....please call....
i called spoke with karen she checked stock and i ordered three.
airport to airport and she gave me the tracking number for friday am
fish arrived ... packed really well.....in three big boxes.

airfreight was $75 total from cleveland to lax.

picked up the fish..drove home....slowly added tank water to the three bags........waited etc.........moved aro's to their new home.

all three were in perfect shape and looked very hi quality. they were pale when put in my tank ( travel stress).....within about 30 minutes they had most of the normal colors return..........

thanks tfd for a very professional job.....and my first airport to airport fish shipment....

I've never ordered from them. But they have listed a "gulper catsterophyssus batrachus." I did a google search, but got nothing. What is that?? Anyone know??

It is merely a printing error. It should read "Gulper Cats-asterophysus batrachus"

I can tell you this much. They can sell out of a particular fish on the same day that they put it up for sale so you need to make sure they still have it when you place your order. If you're interested in saltwater fish you can also try saltwaterfish.com. Although they are a little higher they carry a lot more variety of saltwater fish than tfdfish.com.

You should have no problem finding them on the we. Look under Gulper Cats. Or look under asterophysus batrachus which is only their scientifc name. I doubt if you'd want them if you saw them.

Thanks for the info everyone. That gulper looks like something I'd rather catch and release than keep in a tank.

Another incomplete listing they show is the paret. menarambo"Pinstripe Damba".They list it as rare and for 200.00. What they don't tell you is that it is merely a crossbreed bred by crossing a blotched and a plain Paretroplus menarambo. You can breed your own for less if you have that species in the blotched and plain coloring already.

Beware what you spend the big bucks for. Crossbreeds aren't worth the big bucks. Even if they are rare. Nor do they breed true if you try to breed them. To breed more you have to breed the parent fish they came from. The are not true species. Some call them variants. What they are though is crossbreeds.
