Oranges in goldfish tanks?

They do eat fruit but I don't give mine oranges.

I give mine banana as a treat that messes the water to.

i give it to them wednesday and sundays as they are my tank cleaning days. I find boiling the banana for 2 mins helps the bana piece to "stay together" in the water and therefore not alot of mess

i feed my goldie orange.

i give him half a segment once a week and he loves it, supposed to give them vitamin c.

My common goldfish and koi devour oranges. I cut the orange into quarters and put two quarters in. Usually only takes em about five minutes to tear it up. Then I vacuum the bottom to collect uneaten pieces. It's cute because they leave the skin of the orange and also the transparent "skin" that is between the actual orange slices.

The oranges should only leech acid into the water if left in there for a long long time, and even then it's a fairly isignificant amount cause likely by the time it starts to leech, the fruit itself will probably be eaten.

Kiwi can also be fed to them and is also high in Vit. C.

I give my goldfish a variety of vegetables and fruits.

I've heard that grapefruit is usually a big hit with pond fish, like comets.

Seems like most of the orange would just go bad before they could eat it.
