Orange Spotted Pleco

Hi, I have a Orange Spotted Pleco who is about 15cm, I am down sizing from a 5ft tank to 4ft tank. Would he be okay on his own is a two foot tank until I get a new tank sorted temporarily and are the okay on there own from other fish.

how tempory id tempory? if were talking a few weeks i see no problem fish shops put bigger fish than that in tanks that size and most seem to do ok
