Orange and blue on pink convicts?

I noticed today on 2 of my pink convicts, they had orange patches on both left and right sides of their stomachs and orange/blue fins on their back. Whats going on with them? Is it spawning time or are they just "maturing"?

The orange sheen on the belly is usually an indicator that the fish is a female.

wow.... i think i should be taking a few back and keep a pair that seems the best suited for eachother. I bought 8 of those little buggers a month ago and they were about half an inch long but now their all an inch or bigger. Would a pair be good for a 29? or should i take them all back and trade for a pair of kribs?

A pair will be fine in a 29. Give them some caves to hide in and everything should be OK.
