Just when I thought the house was full I've spotted a corner that is just begging for another tank ;) .

I really need a corner tank (obviously) & am quite interested in a Trigon. I just wondered what people's opinions are on these tanks, Im a little dissponted with the fit & finsh on both my Fluval tanks so want to find something that bit better.

thanks

Mick

I have had mine a week and I like it

Pro's:
Same volume as my 4ft long but looks more attractive and appears to take up less room
My fish point towards me rather than at the opposite wall
Sturdy and well designed
No distorted view as you might imagine
Great big cut out area at back of cabinet for lots of access
Very good hood access

Cons:
Expensive
Cupboards don't open enough to get in there if you need to
Hood is black plastic and gets dusty easily
The internal filter is not raved about so you need to modify the hood to use an external
They don't do a silver version
2 tubes but one switch so can't operate independently

im sure you could get one nice and cheap of ebay :)

but they are nice tanks! very nice!

I can only talk from having a vision 180 and so far I like it a lot. So much so that I now want a vision 450  I would slightly disagree with MermaidMel above and say they do distort things in so much as to say my snails tend to look much bigger than they are - when I pull em out they are still tiny lol. The effect doesn't seem as pronounced with my fish which is odd!

But yeah if I had a spare corner I would possibly get a trigon to fill it :good:

I have a Delta 300 which was the predecessor for the Trigon

Great tank - had it for years

I took my Juwel filter out as I had it drilled for a sump but I think the Juwel filters are great - downside is they take up a lot of room

I have got a trigon 190 which I got off gumtree for £300 complete with fish, its a fantastic tank, the Juwel filter is very good and in my tank you can not see it because ofthe heavy planting.

The only con from my point of view is that it is difficult to change the filter media in thetank because of the height/depth of the tank.

Thanks for all the feedback folks. I've ordered the tank & will see how I get on with the internal as I'm not too heavily stocked. I fneeds be I can follow the excellent advice on here & remove it for my eheim external. :good:

juwel trigon 190 my first corner tank i love it.
the illusion of depth in the tank apears greater than the tank it self ,looks alot bigger than it really is.
a nice deep smart looking aquarium looks well full of tall plants.
bad points.
filter is not too easy to get at as im only 5 foot 4 and need a chair and i leave wet hand marks on the wall above the tank.
removing media baskets to clean or replace media results in gunky milky tank water for hours.
ive now switched to external filtration.
my tank had the old t8 lights and the light ballast would only last about 6 to 12 months £50 to replace a common problem which i believe is now sorted with the new t5 lights.
ive switch to a twin arcadia water proof set and a little bit of diy.
with the bits ive changed and money spent i would buy another trigon if i had the room.
a very nice piece of furniture and a talking point with any one who visits :good:
