I've had her almost a month now and I really didn't realize how good looking she was until I got her under flourescent lights. The pics were taken with her floating in a breeding trap so her colors are a little muted but otherwise are pretty good. She's full of eggs and I'm looking for a cambodian crowntail male with a relatively clean body to possibly breed her with once I get my microworm cultures up and running. I included multiple pics because she's so hard to photograph right so her whole body and fins show up.

Here she is.

I think she looks beautiful, can only imagine how much stronger her colors look when she not a bit stressed, nive betta you got yourself

xXx

i like her fins, but she looks pale to me, she would look so much better if she had bright vibrant colours

She is very nice. Where did ya get her?
Petsmart of all places. I keep an eye out for nice bettas especially females. Most of the males we get are too old for a good breeding career but the females are normally right around the right age. Both of my girls that I got there are ridicously full of eggs. I've tried isolating them and feeding less to see if they are just fat but no luck. They just look miserable and still full of eggs.

Her colors are actually a lot brighter. The camera just doesn't capture them through the glass of the tank and then the plastic of the breeding trap. I can't get her to stay within view without the breeding trap. She has reddish purple fins and a slight purple sheen to her body. Othe than that her body is very clean. She is also a combtail which the pictures don't show. I've been told that means that genetically if she's spawned with a crowntail most of her fry are going to be crowntails because she carries the crowntail gene she just doesn't fully express it.

Looks like she's ready to breed look at her eggs :good:

She's been that way sice two days after I got her. lol It doesn't hurt them to be full of eggs that long does it? I would think they would eventually reabsorb them. Both my females are like that. I think I'm going to use them to do a practice spawn before actually getting a good pair.

awww she is so cute! all i can get at walmart are dark redish brown females. i love them all though.
