hi there,

would like some opinions on tank layout before i add water, here is a picture and no the background is not staying lol I am pleased with it but don't know if it could be made look better with more experienced eyes. you cant tell from this pic but there is like a track/river the goes in the middle and swings slowly to the left

Regards Darren

new pic this pic added is my final layout (i think), the first I have been happy about to be honest

I would try the wood in front of the filter intake and have the other side completely open with nothing in it. You could grow tall plants across the back or just add more wood across the back. Maybe have a swordplant or something big on the right hand side as a show piece, (wood on the left and plant on the right).
What is going in the tank?

angels and rummynose tetras are going in the tank......thanks

That wood on the right doesn't look right to me, i think it nedds to be slighlty lower and tilted down more at an angle if that makes sense! Is it possible to draw on some plats using paint as to the final look your hoping for? It might look ok as it is.

Here is my tank with a rough guide to what and where i am planting it

I like the wood on the left and see the beginnings of a right-triangle layout, if you move the wood on the right to the left and angle it so it roughly follows the angle of the jutting piece on the left wood that is furthest right. Looks like a little arm jutting out. Should be about 45 degrees or so. In addition, move that smaller mopani on the right to the left as well. Position it right below the main piece as an extension of the main piece. The rocks should also be on the left, but position the larger rock to the left of the two smaller and radomize the postions somewhat. You don't want a line of rocks. This is, however, only my opinion, and you may do what you wish.

thanks going to have another play today.....
