Hey everyone, I noticed my female opaline hasn't been eating much lately. She seems somewhat more submissive than she used to be. Her tank is completely cycled. I don't know if she could just be adjusting since I just moved her back to Pennsylvania from Illinois or what? Will gouramis eat peas?

Gouramis would eat fish and chips given half the chance...
:fish:
I'm a panicker when it comes to my fish, especially my gourami so i'd try pea and if that didn't get her eating and theres no doubt that its just basic constipation then maybe a defrosted prawn, no luck with these then try feeding her directly either using a turkey baster or distraction techniques, try this for a couple of days and if both fail i'd get a general med in. During this time i'd also be performing a water change or two.
Maybe she is just still shook up though...

No go on the pea...Is there something else I should try or should I give her a day or two?

Do you think she's constipated? Is she kept alone?

Oh, in addition do you have a spare/hospital tank?

She's in a community tank, and yes I have a hospital tank. I think she's going to go in there tonight if I don't see her eat anything.

Yeah, annoyingly enough lethargy is a non specific sign of illness as well as a common behaviour shown after a 'stressful' move....
In the hospital tank she'll be able to relax a bit and eat as it pleases her, rather than surrounded by other fish, i'd honestly try leaving a deshelled and defrosted prawn and a pea in the hospital tank with her for an hour or two, fish love it.
Keep it dark and quiet as well, if it is the move, hopefully that'll help her calm down.

Obviously if she doesn't improve soon or starts showing any other symptoms then its time for medication.
Good luck!

How is she, any improvement or change in condition?
Got my fingers crossed....

Thanks germ. She still doesn't seem interested in eating much. It's weird, she was so headstrong before I moved back and now she seems so timid. She's by far the largest fish in there, so it's not like anything is picking on her.
