Is this HITH?

I was all set to freak out when I noticed how Hagrid's nostrils looked a few minutes ago, but while getting the picture organized onto my computer, I noticed that he had similar looking nostrils a few months ago. I don't know how I missed it.

For the record...the camera flash makes the...erosion...areas look whiter than they are in real life.

He lives in a 55g (for now, bigger tank coming tomorrow, coincidentally)
He just got a 50% (maybe more) water change a couple of weeks ago. And will obviously be getting even more tomorrow when my new 125g arrives.

What sort of treatment would you suggest? OTHER THAN a water change
Could it be anything other than HITH? Would there be different treatments or is it all going to be the same. I am used to sick bettas, I have never had any trouble with my oscar. Help! :(

Edit: That makes it sound like my bettas are sick all the time. They aren't. I just have more experience with sick bettas, and avoiding illness and recovery...oh, you know what I mean.

Need to no water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, how many fish and which type it looks like an ulcer to me.

He did share his 55g with a couple of plecos, but they have been gone for about a month. He is scheduled to get a new 125g tank all to himself tomorrow, so count that as a massive water change.

Water stats are coming...

I am almost sure it is HITH, but I will check out the link about ulcers in a minute.

I am pretty sure the main trouble was water quality and food. I think I got a bit lazy with the bigger tank and didn't keep up the changes like I do one my bettas.

And, I have been reading the jar for the pellets the dude who sold me Hagird gave me...AGH! This is KOI FOOD! How did I not notice? I just blindly accepted that since this dude had been using it and the fish was eating it it was ok. SHeesh!

The best advice I have gotten on other internet sites has been to juice up the diet and do lots of water changes. Since he is getting a new tank soon (there was a delay) that will certainly cover the first massive change. ANd I got an...interesting  ...recipe for homemade fish food. SO we are set. I'll post back in a while with updates.
