One Week=3 Dead Guppies

I was going to buy some girl gups today to breed with my male gup, Flame. Then this morning I discovered Flame had died. His eyes were missing and his fins were shredded pretty bad.

So that makes my new three guppies dead within a week of purchase

The blue rams, which are meant to be fragile are doing great

Perhaps that batch pof guppies wasn't good....not even I could kill fish that soon!!!

All fish were in ther quar tank...

Are my blue rams murderers???

fish eyes and fins don't disappear when fish die.

Unless his dead body was picked on, I would guess your rams are killing your guppies.

I forgot to mention....one of the guppies that died I actually euthanised....it was flip flopping around the tank.....

The other 2 I found dead.

Lets face it, fish do have a tendency to munch on each other after one dies. It's quiet possible that they nibbled on him after he was dead, and the eyes and fins would probably be the first thing to get gnawed since they are easier to get hold of then the actual body. Exactly what else is in there with them, and are these the first guppies in you tank, or do you have others?

I have had other guppie successfully in the past...

These fish were in my 10gal quar tank as all my new fish are...with 2 blue rams who are doing well for so-called fragile fish.
