Just wanted to share a story about how I, somehow, cultivated a single baby shrimp under some terrible conditions for reproduction. I have a five gallon with two lyretail guppies, a balloon molly and two ghost shrimp so I was not looking to have any babies running around. At the time it was not brackish water, the temp was 78 and my filter was on high. A couple days after all mama shrimp's eggs were gone my girlfriend somehow noticed the tiniest little spec walking around a plant in my tank, maybe a millimeter in length. It was a baby ghost shrimp! We were both very excited but I figured at some point he would get munched on or sucked into the filter. We never saw him again until tonight, two weeks later. He was brazenly walking along the front of the tank where all the fish could see, scanning the gravel for some food to munch on.

Now he is about a centimeter long, and enjoys trudging around with mama shrimp cleaning the tank. I have heard these things are really hard to breed without having really good conditions to cultivate it so I amazed this little guy is still kicking.
