One Of My Platys Has Died

my big male platy has died hes turned orange and shrunk just found him floating in the tank not sure what hes died of but the only thing ive done recently is put a new pump in could that have anything to do with it ?
 
could of wiped out some of the bacteria, but if you have only changed the pump i cant see that being the cause.

Volume and Frequency of water changes: only just bought the new pump the other day and did a water change the same day

Tank inhabitants:platys,endlers,white cloud,neon tetras,glowlight tetras,ghost shrimp

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration):new pump

Exposure to chemicals:none as far as i know but i was feeding them dead woodlice the other day only 2 little ones

You will need to test your water parameters.
 
i spose your right everytime ive had fish die though i get the water tested and they say its great nothing wrong with it
 
do you do the test or a LFS? if a LFS get them to write the stats down and post them here, or if you do it also post it here
