Hi there.

I had 6 little glow light Tetras in my aquarium but now I only have 5 :'(

Little Perceval died this morning.

The others didn't let him swim with them and made him stay in the corner then he started to swim strangely and crash in to the sides. Then he went upside down and died soon after.

Please help as I don't want the others to die too.

They look very happy just now, but have only been in 5 days. The tank has been running over 2 weeks with live plants.

Thanks, Ross

Do you have a test kit? If not, get one asap. Don't get the test strips, get a liquid one. They cost a little more but they last alot longer. You need to test for ammonia right away. Your tank is not cycled. You are now in a fish in cycle. This is the link you will need. http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/224306-fish-in-cycling/ . If you don't have a test kit, do 50 - 75% water changes every day until you get one. Do you use water dechlorinater? If you do, does it detoxify ammonia? If yes, use it. Don't feel too bad about running the tank for two weeks and thinking it is cycled. This seems to be the advice most lfs give.

Thanks again for replying.

I use water dechlorinater and it does work on ammonia. Should I put some straight in the tank? I only use it on water I am adding when I change water just now. I will do more water changes I wasn't doing that much. I will get the test strips ASAP. I feel like a murderer :'(

I did add all the fish at once.

No! Do not get the test strips. Get the liquid test kit. The strips are not very accurate. I suggest a big water change right away and use the dechlorinator. As I said, don't feel too bad. It happens all of the time. The important thing is you are willing to do what it takes to correct the problem.

Good luck to you and your little glow lights. Make sure you read that section on fish in cycling. If you have any questions or have an update, post it here.
