One More Question About Coloring

I forgot to add this in my previous post, but i have a male betta that always had a little black on his tail. I got some female bettas and they're in view of this male and today I noticed that the black on his tail is super bright, and larger? almost like it spread a bit. It looks really cool and i was just wondering if he brightened up because of the hottie next door
