My female guppy gave birth about a month ago. Today, I was looking at her beautiful fry and noticed that almost all of the female fry had LARGE stomachs and their gravid spot was dark. They arn't even that big! Is it possible that they can give birth only a month after their own birth?

that has to be almost imposible. they would needed to be inpregnated at like 2 days old lol?.

i think maybe closer to 3 month is pushing it

but remember fry often look very fat after feeding, maybe thats it?
allthough the fry in my tank that are around 1 month are only like triple size of my newborns. maybe in your tank they get more/better food

but the fry has a gravid spot wich means that its pregnent

No it doesn't. All females have gravid spots, pregnant or not. It's where they store eggs and sperm and such too, not just fry. Fry DO appear in the gravid spot, but just because a female has one doesn't mean she's pregnant. Females can get pregnant at a few days old, but they hardly ever have birth before 2-3 months old. Do you have a mature male in with them?

i allways thought they could take on the sperm at a few days but still dont let them selves get pregnent for a month or 2?

I noticed the same thing in one of my female swordies. She has had a gravid spot for 2 monthes now but no babies and no change in size. Weird hey. Time to get a new mate.

Yeah mine are about one and a half month old and they are barely at a adult feeding guppy size.
