Hey, im after a reason why my gourami died. Im stumped. So any suggestions would be great.

One of my pearls was doin great, eating, swiming etc. but this morning i woke up to see here at the bottum......sniffle, :byebye: RIP.

Previously i had noticed small ploches of discolouration. But only little round circles on her upper back, lower head area. Then this morning they had enlarged over last night and she had one very white clowdy eye. She wasnt strugling for breath either..?

Water params are fine. Ph- 7.5, Nitite-0, Ammonia-o, and no trace of chlorine.

Help. I have four others, and i want to do something if i can.

Sorry about the gourami :( . The patches and cloudy eye may be slime desease which I had recently. Interpet slime desease treatment did the trick

Was she not showing any other signs? Could she have been bullied and the injuries become infected? Any sign of parasites - both internal or external? When you took her out, could you tell if she was bloated or anything else unusual? Pearls are generaly healthy and hardy fish. The only thing I have found to have a very devestating effect on them is rapid changes in pH. Also make sure the temperature is ok. Of course high levels of ammonia etc are also deadly but if your water parameters are fine and your other fish unnafected, the only explanation is that she was sick. The patches, you say, were discolored. This doesn't realy sound like slime disease though I'm sure it could be. As for the cloudy eye, that's usualy caused by bad water quality but you say yours is fine. Another thing to consider is whether you have recently treated the tank with something or put in something new as these may have altered the water chemsitry or introduced irritating substances to which this individual was particularly sensitive.

So sorry to here about your fish
It might be an idea to add a little salt to the water just in case there is a external parasite in the tank. Dont think there would be but salt is brilliant for its antiseptic and healing properties.
