off on my holidays for a week, just wondering if I should leave the light in my community tank on/off for the week? just replanted the tank (bad timing now i think about it!) so i reckon the plants will quite likely die if i leave it off, but it'l be covered in algae if i leave it on?

lesser of 2 evils anyone?

Try n get hold of a timer.

aye i have one on my other tank, but my dad rigged the electrics up all spazzy on this tank so I can't put it on a timer :/ so it's either on/off cos all my mates who live locally are on holiday with me so no one can come in n turn it on/off either :look:

Ohh deja vu

Here's my response to a previous similar thread:

Well, if you really want to save your plants....

I say uproot all your plants, place it in a bucket of water (make sure they're submerged, not floating for better water coverage), place it where it will get sunshine. If you're going to get green water or algae explosion, it would be in the bucket and not in your aquarium. Just clean it off before you replant them.

Hope that helps!

oh what a truly cunning plan! I like it!! I'm on the case

I think you could also go through all the electronics and try to fix what he has done :/ I would do that, but I am good with electronics :D
