Ok, so half way through july im going on holiday for a week. Im setting up a 35l planted tank, and want HC Cuba carpet.

Im wondering could I start the carpet now so when I get back off holiday it should be good to go with other plants etc. Or would they die off when I go away for the week as I wouldn't be able to dose them?

So im wondering if plants can go a week without dosing. The plants are:

Hygrophila Balsamica x1
Java Moss x1
HC Cuba x1
Egeria Najas x1
Pogostemon helferi x1

make sure evrything is runing smoothly in the tank, then before you go away give a final dose, and half the lighting if possible, and run a 6hr photperiod.

If everything is balanced before you go on holiday then you should be ok.
As Aaron has suggested, cut the photoperiod massively and dose a decent amount just before you go.
I'm going away for two weeks soon but have arranged for people to pop in every 4 days and I plan to half everything like co2 and light but dose the same.

Ok - so the plan is to have about 10-12 hours a day light when i first set up and 1ml of tpn++ to set up and then about a week before i go i will cut it down to 1ml of tpnn++ every two days etc. and only 5 hours of light

stick ith maximum of 10hrs per light to minimize algae issues.
